The State of Minnesota requires all cross-country skiers on public ski trails who are aged 16 and above to have a Minnesota Ski Pass. You must sign your ski pass and carry it with you when skiing. Your ski pass fee helps support Minnesota's cross-country ski trail system.

You can purchase a daily, one-season or three-season ski pass by phone: 1-888-665-4236 (1-MN-LICENse). Call any time of day or night, seven days a week. This toll-free call provides immediate licensing by way of a license identification number, which will be issued at the time of the call. The license identification number is valid until you receive an actual license in the mail. Have your date of birth, driver's license and credit card (Discover, MasterCard or Visa) ready when you call. (There is a $3.50 processing fee for this transaction.)
By mail
Purchase a one-season or three-season ski pass by mail (daily pass not available by mail). Print out a ski pass order form and send it with a check (payable to "MN DNR") or money order to:
